In a landmark step for women’s development, the Uttarakhand government has completed the draft of its new state-wide women’s policy, bringing together all 57 departments to work as one. From health and education to law, safety, and livelihood — every department will now play a role in empowering women across the state.

📄 What’s in the Policy? The policy aims to create a unified system where multiple departments coordinate efforts to ensure women’s growth in every sector — including:

  • 👩‍⚕️ Healthcare

  • 📚 Education and Skill Development

  • 🛡️ Safety and Legal Protection

  • 💼 Employment and Economic Empowerment

  • 🧠 Mental Health and Support Systems

🗂️ Departments will no longer work in silos. Instead, each will be responsible for fulfilling specific roles under the new framework. This integrated model is expected to be a strong example for other Indian states.

📌 The final draft will soon go for approval after consultations, and once launched, it could reshape the way Uttarakhand supports women at every level.

📣 Do you think this all-department approach will bring real change for women in Uttarakhand? Tell us in the comments.
