President Droupadi Murmu Begins Uttarakhand Tour, Lays Foundation for New Public Projects

President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Dehradun on Wednesday, kicking off her three-day official visit to Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami personally welcomed her at Jolly Grant Airport, followed by a series of ceremonial and public engagements.

n Day 1, she laid the foundation stone for a massive 132-acre public park along Rajpur Road. She also inaugurated key facilities including an amphitheater, staff quarters, and restored stables at the Rashtrapati Niketan. These heritage premises, along with the nearby Tapovan estate, will be thrown open to the public starting June 24.


Her itinerary includes:


  • Visiting the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities.

  • Inaugurating a new lab and interacting with students.

  • Releasing a special postal stamp for the 125th anniversary of Raj Bhavan, Nainital.

  • Leading the International Yoga Day celebrations at Police Line Ground on June 21.


🚦 Traffic was diverted in key areas of Dehradun, especially around Rajpur Road, with authorities requesting citizens to use alternate routes.
